Aurelia Jadrny Schwarzenegger is a mother who gave birth to an extraordinary son. She is the mother of an Austrian-born American bodybuilder, a movie actor and politician, Arnold Schwarzenegger. 

An inspiring success story of Arnold to make a dream into reality

Born in poor Catholic households in Austria, Arnold always dreamt of achieving something bigger and better in life.

When he saw America's documentary while 11 years old, he made his dream to move to America, but he was not sure about the path that would lead him to his dream. 

After reading an article about Reg Park, he realized his exact goal, an English bodybuilder, actor, and businessman. It became the source of inspiration to him as he wanted to become exactly like him. 

He became so determined to become a bodybuilder and transform into a film career that he started working hard days and nights to live the American dream. 

The goal in his life led his dream turned into reality and many more than that.

Married to a local police chief

Aurelia, a war widow, married a local police chief and a former military officer, Gustav Schwarzenegger, on the 5th of  October, 1945, in Murzsteg, Steiermark, Austria. 

After her marriage, she devoted herself as a homemaker. She remained in marital bliss until the death of her spouse.

Cause of death

Her husband died on 13th December 1972. He died of a stroke in Weiz, Steiermark, Austria, at the age of 65. He was buried in Weiz Cemetry.

Extreme favoritism between her two children

In an interview, Arnold confronted that there used to be extreme favoritism between him and his elder brother, Reinhard. 

His father preferred his brother over him and was abusive towards him. He even hit him with a belt in suspicion of his sexuality.  

According to Arnold, there were never compliments from his side despite his hard work. He got estranged from his father before his death and did not attend his funeral.  

The positive side was that it created a fire in a belly that motivated him to work hard. His elder brother died in a car accident at the age of 23. 

His death was caused due to drunk driving on 20th May 1971. Like his father, Arnold did not have good relationships with his brother, too, due to which he skipped his brother's funeral too.

Her husband was accused of his links with Nazi

Her spouse served for seven years in the military from 1930 to 1937. In 1990, the news of his links with Nazi circulated, which made Arnold dig into his past to know the depth of truth. 

He employed his friends at the Simon Wiesenthal Center for the investigation. 

After a two-month investigation, they realized that he had applied for the membership in 1938, but there was no such evidence of his war crime. 

Later, it was discovered that he was a member of the Sturmabteilung, also known as Brown Shirts, but his activities were not known, due to which conclusion could not be drawn.

Born in poverty without any luxuries made Arnold even more hungry for success. He followed his dream and worked hard until he accomplished it.  

He landed in America with empty pockets, but he is today living his dream.
