When the ex-husband of Mary was asked what the last day of his wife was like by Dr. Oz, he answered that the last day was sort of a sense of relief that she wasn’t in pain anymore but also really devastating because the reality is you’re not going to see that person that has been there for you the most.

Her parents on how they first met and how the teacher-student relationship turned into the girlfriend-boyfriend relationship?

Her parents, Villi and Mary, during an interview with Australian TV, opened up about how they first met and how their teacher-student relationship turned into a girlfriend-boyfriend relationship.

According to Mary, she first met Villi’s brothers and older sister before she met him.

She was familiar with the name Villi Fualaau because he was one of her students in grade two, and also she knew Fualaau's family because she knew his other siblings.

Later, Mary was taking her classes for continuing education for her certification in teaching.

He was also in a class at the same college. It was a summer school.

It initially began with a friendship, and they eventually became closer during the summertime.

Villi said there were a lot of things that led to connecting on a deeper level, and then it went wild-crazy once the police and her husband discovered them.

When asked what first attracted him to Mary, he said she was pretty, and she taught some art stuff, which he found cool, and in sixth grade, they connected on certain things.

Villi also admitted that it initially started as a dare in front of his friends.

“It started with trying to get closer with Mary, but that was the reason,” he said, to which Mary added she knew nothing about it.

There was a bet, but later down in the road in the relationship, the bet hasn’t even crossed his mind anymore, he said.

Mary then recalled the moment when Villi asked her at what age she thought she was going to die at the end of the school year.

When she answered she would live at least 100 years, he said if she was going to live 100 years, then he was going to be 80 years because he was not living another day without her.

There weren’t any thoughts or ideas that something was going to happen, even when he said 80 and 100.

When asked to Villi if he was transported back and made the decision all over again to pursue the relationship, would he do it, he said he didn't know, explaining that there was a lot of complexity of emotions going on with both of them, and a lot of those elements brought them together.

”To be where we are today, was it right, was it wrong, I don’t know, he said.

All he knows is that it happened, and everything that did happen they felt within their hearts for each other was real, he said.

He asked Mary if she had done anything wrong.

She ran away from him at one point, thinking she had to go, and cried harder later.

She didn’t know she was pregnant at the time.

She said they now know that they were legally wrong, which they didn’t know 20 years back.

She has been the rock in her sister’s life
