Atiana is not only famous as a step-daughter of Barker but also as a daughter of an American boxing promoter and former professional boxer, Oscar De La Hoya, and American model, actress, and reality television star, Shanna Moakler.

Her parents started dating in October 1997. 

Oscar, in an interview, said he was at the club in L.A. and was hanging with his buddies around 2 in the morning when Shanna walked in to have a coffee with her high school best friend. 

It was a love at first sight for both of them. 

They moved in together in early 1998, announced their engagement the same year in October, and welcomed Atiana the following year. 

Shanna, in an interview, revealed her pregnancy was not planned, but it was understood that if it happened, it was beautiful, and if it didn't, then it was fine.

Following her split from her father, her mother started dating actor Dennis Quaid in February 2001 but split in October of the same year.

During a Q&A session, when a fan asked Oscar how it feels to him about Barker's claim of raising his daughter, he said he has nothing but respect for Barker.

Atiana, in her selfie confessional back on her 18th birthday, expressed that she was bumped when her father missed her birthday party, but regardless of anything, he is always there and always loves her.
