He said he didn’t know. Then a few minutes later, he saw his mom walking up to him. The moment she walked in the door was the moment where he let everything go.

DMX longed for his mother’s love and heard from her that she loved him for so many years since he never got that mommy experience. He was physically abused since childhood. 

During the GQ interview, he revealed that his mom beat two teeth out of his mouth when he was just six years old after he erased her written words from her notebook, which he found was wrong. 

He thought he was helping her, but throughout his entire life, he could not find out why his mom acted so violently. 

But DMX forgave his mom from his heart for whatever she did to him. 

He said she was abusive does not mean he didn’t love her, and that does not mean she is the same person. 

He added,

Children don’t come with a F***ing instruction manual. She was 20 at the time when she had me. Four sisters, I am the only boy. Maybe she didn’t know what to do with me.
