Antonia Kidman

Antonia Kidman is an Australian TV presenter and Journalist.

She is also the sister of actress, singer, and producer Nicole Kidman.

Early life

Antonia Kidman was born in 1970 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Her mother, Janelle Ann, is a nursing instructor and editor of her husband's book. 

Meanwhile, her father, Antony Kidman, was a clinical psychologist, biochemist, and author. Antonia's parents were studying in the United States on a student Visa's. 

Her father was a doctoral student at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa. He is a traveling member at the United States' National Institute of Mental Health. 

Kidman's parents objected to the Vietnam War, engaged in anti-war marches while staying in Washington, D.C. The family returned to Australia, and her mother now lives on the North Shore of Sydney.

Antonia also has an elder sister named Nicole, a famous actress, producer, and singer.

Career and philanthropy 

Kidman started her journalism career with the Today program of the Nine Network as a reporter and then worked as a news correspondent for NBN Television, the Newcastle-based television network. 

She was associated with Foxtel for a long time, and in 2002 she produced her program, The Little Things, an educational series about growing children on the stream.

Antonia is heavily involved in the community and making situations better for people. Her voluntary engagement includes the Royal Hospital for Women's Foundation. 

She is also involved with the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Randwick Mother's Hospital, and the Taronga Zoo Foundation in Sydney.

Antonia's husband shockingly passed away

In February 1996, Antonia Kidman married Angus Hawley. Their ceremony took place with her sibling Nicole Kidman and her then-husband Tom Cruise at Monte Sant 'Angelo Mercy College Chapel. 

Kidman and Hawley had four children together. Two daughters, Lucia (born 1998) and Sybella (born 2007), and two sons, Hamish "Hamey" (born in 2001) and James (born in 2003).

Unfortunately, Hawley and Kidman's 11-year marriage ended in divorce in May 2007. In the family home in Greenwich, Sydney, Kidman stayed with the girls. 

The two were to be co-parenting and working together for their kids. In a shocking turn of events, Angus Hawley suffered a serious cardiac arrest at 46. He died in April 2015.

Kidman opens up about her divorce and kids

In an interview with studio 10, Antonia was asked about her divorce. The mother of four expressed her concerns about the process of divorce and the impact it brings upon children. 

When TV presenter asked Antonia about how kids deal as their parents split up. She replied that a child's mental wellbeing depends on how well their parents tolerate the split in certain situations. 

"Well, I think it's about a parent's mental wellbeing, especially if you have dependents, you have to take care of oneself, or that was my perception," 

said Antonia. 

She continued by saying, 

"I already had a lot of family encouragement, so that helped."
