Anna Mariana Casemiro is a Brazilian-born beauty who is famous as the wife of one of the world’s best defensive midfielders, Casemiro.

He said he is so passionate about football that only football is on at home. And his wife gets annoyed by that. 

He enjoys watching post-match stats and footage after the game. Sometimes, he watches even three or four times over. 

He thinks watching his game three or four times over is a way of learning and developing by correcting errors which is the key to continue evolving in football, and that it’s his job which he loves. 

He considers football his life and says he has to think permanently about football.

A childhood driven by poverty and challenges 

Casemiro had a very tough childhood driven by poverty and challenges. 

Because of the extreme poverty, there were times when there used to be no food on the table, and was forced to go to bed on an empty stomach. 

Not only food but also the house they lived in was cramped, and they had no fixed house to live in, and Casemiro would end up staying at his grandparents' or teammates’ house for a proper sleep before games. 

He was just five years old when his parents got into a huge argument, after which his father moved out of the house and never returned, leaving his mother alone to manage. 

He says he won’t recognize his father if he sees him in the street today. 

But he does not have any grudges and has always wanted to meet him because he thinks it was something God wanted for him. 

For a five-year-old boy, the only escape from all those was football and his mother, Venancio Magda de Mario Casemiro, who was always by his side. 

She used to work as a cleaner to feed her three kids, Casemiro, Bianca, and Lucas. 

So everything he has today, and everything he has achieved today, is because of his mom, says Casemiro.

He was diagnosed with hepatitis as soon as he joined Sao Paolo, due to which he was away from football for some time. 

Even after he recovered, he thought of quitting football, but his past and family sufferings strengthened him most to keep his career going.
