Amy Cranston is famous as a celebrity sister. 

She is the younger sister of six-time Primetime Emmy Awards-winning American actor and filmmaker Bryan Cranston. 

Amy has been serving at the Social-Emotional Learning Alliance (SEL4CA) as the executive director.

About her parents

Amy was born to her parents, Annalisa "Peggy," a radio actress, and Joseph Cranston, a former actor and former amateur boxer. 

Their parents first met at an acting class in Hollywood around 1948 and 1949. Her mother was the second wife of her father. 

Amy was born alongside her older brothers, Bryan and Kyle. 

During an interview with the Guardian, Bryan said that the first eight years of his childhood felt very normal. 

He had a mother, a brother, and a sister, but things started to disintegrate after their father left home and their mother started drinking. 

It fractured and dissolved, and he became an introverted kid, always wondering when the next rug would be pulled under him.

After their father left home, her brothers were partly raised by their maternal grandparents and resided on their poultry farm in Yucaipa, California, while she went on to live with her paternal grandparents. 

In an interview with the New Yorker, Bryan said that their mother had a great zest for life, but after their father left her, it just destroyed her, and eventually, she became Blanche DuBois with men and lived in clutter. 

Amy said that her recollection is of a single room and two older brothers who were her dads.

Bryan reconciled with his father after a decade

Their father aspired to become an actor, which, according to Bryan, was a sign of immaturity. 

Bryan told the Guardian that his father wanting to become a star for him is the equivalent of saying that you just want to be rich without having an idea or plan of how to acquire wealth. 

When her brother Bryan was 11 years old, their father walked out on the family, leaving them behind. He reconciled with him only after a decade. 

While appearing on Howard Stern's show, he reflected on his relationship with his father where he said his father went through a period where the career didn't work out as expected, and his affair with someone else split up the family. 

He said he didn't hate his father for abandoning him because he had a good relationship with his father until he left him. 

He described his father to be a broken guy.

Bryan finally reconciled with his father after a decade. 

It was awkward, but he and his brother were curious to know who their father was, where he went, and what was going on. 

Once they reconciled, it was what it became, he said. 

He asked if there was any reason behind deserting him and his siblings, to which his father replied, saying that he was in an extremely bad place. 

His father apologized for what he did. Soon after they reconciled, they got along as best as they could. 

His father sadly passed away in 2014 at the age of 90. 

Bryan said after the passing of their father, they were going through his things when his daughter found a piece of paper in which his father, in his shaky handwriting, had written, 

"The happiest day of my life is when my children forgave me for the worst period of my life."

Bryan revealed the secret of his successful 34 years of marriage to his wife, Robin Dearden

Bryan has been happily married to his wife, actress Robin Dearden, since July 1989. They first met on the set of the 1986 series Airwolf. 

They were filming a scene where Bryan was playing the villain, and she played a hostage he held at gunpoint. 

At the time, both of them were in a committed relationship. They started dating the following year.

Speaking to People during the premiere of his latest film, Argylle, he opened up about his successful relationship and revealed the secret behind it. 

According to him, marrying the right person is the secret. He thinks that there are five things that one should look for in a mate. 

Whatever those five things are, one needs those five things. After that, let it go. We’re never going to be completely alike on everything, he said. 

Prior to marrying Robin, Bryan was married to Mickey Middleton. They exchanged wedding vows in 1977 but ended their marriage in divorce in 1982.
