Alicia Molik is a former Australian tennis player. She was born on January 27, 1981.

Parents And Family

Alicia Molik was born to parents Andrew and Teresa Molik in Adelaide, which is the capital city of the state of South Australia.

About Her Achievement

Alicia started her professional career in tennis by playing some ITF events in Australia in the year 1996.

Unfortunately, shortly after the Australian Open 2005, she contracted ear infection, which led to Vestibular neuronitis (It is an inner-ear condition caused by a virus that affects balance, vision, and energy level as well). 

After she diagnosed with this infection, she took an extended break from tennis until May 2006 so that she will get full time to recover herself. 

She made a come back to the Italian Open in the year 2006 when she got recovered fully from the ear infection. 

But she lost that match. After making a comeback, she won her first match at the 2006 French Open. 

After that, she played for one and a half years continuously, but on September 5, she announced her retirement from professional tennis because of her elbow difficulties and nagging leg. 

It was heartbreaking news for fans and well-wishers. 

However, she continued to work as a commentator for six months. 

Again, she announced her Comeback to tour tennis on July 30 September 2009. 

Alicia said that she is free from all the injuries that she has had before. 

She had great success in the last three months of her Comeback, but in 2010, she failed to take her standing that she has back in tennis. 

She did not get as much success that she has gained before.
