Alexis Mac Allister

Alexis Mac Allister is an Argentine-born professional football player who plays for Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion and the Argentina national team. 

He plays as a central midfielder.

He comes from a family of footballers 

Allister was born in La Pampa to his parents Carlos Mac Allister and Maria Silvina but he grew up in Buenos Aires. 

However, his parents are no longer together and have moved on with their respective lives. 

His father is currently married to his second wife, whose name is Guille. His father, Carlos Mac Allister, is a former professional footballer. 

He played as a left-back for Argentinos Juniors, Boca Juniors, and Racing Club and got three international caps in 1993 for Argentina. 

His uncle Patricio Mac Allister is a former football player who played as a forward for several clubs.

Similarly, his two older brothers, Francis and Kevin, are professional footballers. 

Francis plays as a midfielder for Talleres de Cordoba, while Kevin plays as a right-back for Argentinos Juniors. 

According to Allister, his father would ask him and his brother to help him with his scouting reports, and they would put down on paper how many passes, shots, or crosses a player had done. 

He says his father and uncle are always trying to give them experience.

His career journey so far

Allister started playing football at the age of five. He was five when he went to the club Social y Deportivo Parque in Buenos Aires with his two older brothers. 

The club instilled in them a love for football. 

He then joined Argentinos Juniors' youth setup before he made a professional debut in October 2016 and his first professional goal in March 2017 with a 2-1 victory over Instituto. 

In January 2019, he signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Brighton & Hove Albion. 

Allister says he has improved greatly in Brighton after joining the club in 2019. Allister thinks he has progressed in a lot of ways. 

He has improved in the physical aspect, and he has adapted to various positions, and also he has been trying to improve his English every day.

He also admits to finding his feet in the Premier League. 

He said he feels like he is a premier league player now, and at the same time, he wants to improve more so he will keep up the hard work.

In the 2020-2021 season, Allister scored his first Premier League goal in the last-minute equalizer in the derby against rival Crystal Palace. 

He added that after working on physical aspects during the first year, he feels much stronger today. 

He also recalled his best memory which was his brace at Everton on the 2nd of January, 2022. 

He said the game at Goodison park was crucial to him, where he scored two important goals that led to the 3-2 victory over Everton. He added,

“I loved it. It was a really good day.”

In a relationship with his girlfriend 

Allister is currently in a relationship with his girlfriend named, Camila Mayan. Mayan turned 23 in April. 

It is not known when the couple started dating, but they are madly in love with each other since the pictures say it all. 

The couple often keeps sharing their pictures. Camila is seen accompanying Allister to matches. The couple is living together in the city of Brighton and Hove.

He is family–oriented

Allister says his family plays an important role in his life, and he finds it difficult to be far from his family. 

He says he loves them, misses them a lot, and talks to them daily to stay connected.
