His daughter Jenn later told TMZ that he lost his life following his battle with Alzheimer's.

Jenn said that her father served in the United States Air force for 29 years, which included two tours in Vietnam before his acting career in the 90s.

And also, her father loved his fans and would stop by and chat with anyone who might have recognized him from the show over the years.

His rare interview

He played Stanislaus “Stan” Valchek, the Polish-American commander of the Baltimore Police Department in the South Eastern district.

Valchek has strong political ties, which quickly helps him to ascend the ranks, and to portray a character as somewhat corrupt was a difficult task for him.

In a rare interview while doing “The Wire,” he talked about his character.

He said at the time that for a nice guy like him, it’s a difficult task for him to play a character that is not just unlikeable but has very few endearing qualities.

And it takes him every ounce of his ability regardless of what his wife says, he added.

About his career

After having served nearly three decades in the United States Air Force, he went on to pursue his career in acting in the 90s.

His experience in the Air Force enhanced his ability to portray the character of a police or army officer more efficiently and with a high amount of credibility and accountability.

Brown appeared in one of the episodes of 1995 NBC’s drama series Homicide: Life in the street and the American drama series The F.B.I Files.

He appeared in the 1998 film The Adversaries, 1999 film Liberty heights, 2001 film Shot in the Heart, and Red Dragon before landing the role of Valchek in HBO’s blockbuster “The Wire.”

He played a recurring role in all five seasons of the show. His performance in the series was commendable, which helped him acquire a fandom.

His character in the series will be forever remembered, although he played the role of a corrupt police officer.

While doing the series and completing the series, he appeared in a number of other films.
