How did her parents meet?

Her parents, Eugenio and Alessandra, met in 2005 when Eugenio invited her to take part in an episode of the "Neighbors" series in which he was also acting for the first time. 

They both were dating their respective partners at the time. Alessandra, in an interview, said there was something different that day. 

It was something strange, and the feelings were mutual. It was almost love at first sight, she said. 

Alessandra, at the time, was dating her boyfriend, Eduardo. They later ended their relationship. 

They made their relationship official in 2006. 

Eugenio finally popped the question in March 2012, and the couple walked down the aisle in July of the same year in the Regina Coeli Community in Mexico City.

She has three elder half-siblings 

Aitana has three elder half-siblings who are from her father's three different relationships. All of them are in the entertainment industry. 

Her sister, Aislinn Derbez, whom her father shares with Gabriela Michela, is a comedic actress. 

Her brother, Vadhir Derbez, is an actor and a singer. Her father shares him with Silvana Prince. 

Similarly, her other brother, Jose Eduardo, is also an actor. His mother is actress Victoria Ruffo.

Eugenio, in an interview with Hola, said he has had many failed relationships, but he feels honored and grateful seeing how the four siblings love and care for each other. 

'I must have done something right, he said.

Her father, on his failed relationship 

Her father, while appearing on the "We Are Man Enough" podcast, talked about his failed relationship. 

According to him, he had failed relationships because he wasn't man enough, and every time his relationship was not working, he didn't try to make things work but instead ran away.

"I didn't work on trying to be a better man. I was always a responsible dad, but I feel that I was an irresponsible husband or boyfriend," he said. 

He further went on to say that he didn't get married all those times because he was afraid of commitment and that he learned really late. 

He never got married before his actual wife. He was just jumping from one relationship to the other, he added. 

Talking about his present relationship with his wife, he has been in the relationship for over 15 years, which is breaking all his patterns. 

He is working on his relationship every single day and facing commitment every day because commitment was an issue in his past relationship.

She is an aunt 

Aitana became an aunt after her sister gave birth to her daughter, Kailani Ochmann, in 2018. 

It was Aitana who inspired her sister Aislinn to become a mother. On Aitana's fifth firth birthday, she penned a beautiful message wishing her birthday. 

Alongside her birthday message, she wrote, "Thanks to being your babysitter many times, I decided to become a mom." 

She also thanked Aitana for being a great aunt to Kailani. 

"Thank you for loving and taking such good care of Kai, for being so loving and sensitive, and for singing so beautifully all day long, every single hour, she wrote.

Their bulldog recently passed away

The Derbez family had a bulldog named Fiona, who was part of the family. But Fiona sadly passed away in August. 

Alessandra took her Instagram on the 22nd of August, sharing the sad news. 

In her Instagram, she shared that they said goodbye to their much-loved Fiona, who had been with them for 11 years. 

"We are devastated. Fiona was the most wonderful, loving, faithful companion, daughter, and sister we could have had. We love you with our souls, Fiona, and will miss you eternally. Thank you for giving us so much love, so much joy, and so much happiness. Dad, mom, and Aitana', she wrote.
