Abraham Quintanilla

Abraham Quintanilla is an American singer, lyricist, musician, record producer, and film producer from America. 

He is also famous for being the father of Selena Quintanilla, an American singer, songwriter, businesswoman, model, actress, and fashion designer who was assassinated at 23 by a gunshot. 

She used to be called the Queen of Tejano music. Abraham was born to his parents, Abraham Quintanilla, Sr., and Mary Calderon Quintanilla.

Abraham is a singer, lyricist, musician, and film producer who hails from America. He is the father of the late singer and songwriter Selena. 

He is a Texan native and was born to a religious family. He was born on February 20, 1939, in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA. He is one of six children of his parents.

He was born to his father, Abraham Gonzalez Quintanilla, Sr., and his mother, Maria Tereza Calderon. 

His parents worked as gleaners of vegetables, fruits, and cotton. 

He studied at Roy Miller High School, but before completing high school, he dropped out of it to make his career in the music industry. 

Later in 1957, he joined a musical group made with alumni classmates. The name of the group was Los Dinos, and later, he left the band in order to raise his family. 

When he discovered the talent of his daughter Selena, who was six years old, he started training her, along with his son named Abraham III, to play bass and his next daughter, Suzette, in the drums. 

After that, they formed a band named Selena y Los Dinos. They managed to release over six albums from the studio. 

The family started the musical journey together. After the murder of Selena in 1955, he worked as the executive producer on the film about her life.

Selena was a popular singer from America who was also a model and actress, spokesperson, and Fashion designer aside from that. 

She was best known as the Queen of Tejano music. Her music and fashion made her one of the most famous figures in the late 20th century. 

She was the person who turned the genre of Tejano music into a renowned music genre. She was popular for her single named Como La Flor. 

She was also the winner of a Grammy for her album Live as the best Mexican/American Album. She was also a Coca-Cola spokesperson.

Murder of Selena:

She was murdered by Yolanda Saldivar on 31st March 1995. 

Yolanda was her friend, and also she used to manage her boutiques and also she was the president of her fan club. 

She was killed by a gunshot in Corpus Christi, Texas. 

Before the murder, the two of them were meeting in a hotel room to talk about the concern of embezzling money by Saldivar. 

From the records of the court, it is said that Saldivar killed her accidentally, due to which she was sentenced to life in prison for a lifetime.

Abraham is married to his wife named, Marcella Samora. Together they had children A.B. Quintanilla, Selena, and Suzette Quintanilla. 

His daughter Selena was married to her boyfriend Chris Perez for three years until her death.
