Joanna Gleason is a Canadian actress best known for her theatre performances.

She is married to her husband, who is an American actor named Chris Sarandon on July 22, 1994. 

They have been together for 25 years now and are still going strong as there is no sign of their divorce or any extramarital affairs.

Joanna’s first marriage was with acting coach Paul G. Gleason. She has a son named Aaron David Gleason from Paul. 

They took the vows in 1975 and filed divorce after seven years of their marriage in 1982. 

She then got married to Michael Bennahum after two years of her divorce i.e., in 1984.

However, the duo separated in 1990 after six years of their marriage. She do not have any children from her second nor her third marriage.

Joanna met Chris on the set of Broadway’s short-lived musical “Nick and Nora.” The duo loved spending time with each other and fell in love.

The couple returned to the stage together in “Thorn and Bloom” in 1998’s and collaborated in several movies like “Road Ends,” “Edie & Pen,” “Let the Devil Wear Black,” and “American Perfekt.”

Joanna is the eldest daughter of popular game show personality Monty Hall and television producer Marilyn Hall.

 She has two siblings, Sharon Hall Kessler and Richard Hall. Both of her siblings are in the television world as writer/ director.

In an interview with Mark Robinson, she was asked what she looks for in a theatre role, what about a character appeals to you. Her answer to this was, 

“Well, it has changed over the years. When you are young, you look for opportunities. You don’t have the luxury of your druthers. You try to get yourself in front of people. After Into the Woods, I found myself interested in primary roles, from pieces that hadn’t been done before. And, of course, there are also people I wanted to work with and chose my projects accordingly.”
