Chris Distefano

Chris Distefano is an American-born comedian and actor. 

Distefano was born in Brooklyn, New York, to his parents, Tony Distefano and Donna Distefano.

His family is the inspiration behind his comedy 

Growing up, whenever Distefano would feel sad or have emotional outbursts, he would try to make people laugh instead of yelling or doing drugs. 

When he was 24, he got to a point where he felt he should try it as a career because it naturally came with him.

Distefano has always aspired to make people laugh and always tried to bring a smile to their faces whenever he saw them sad. 

He said the material and the inspiration come from his family. As a guy, he always talks about his family. 

According to him, the number one rule in his head is to talk about it on stage if it actually happened to him in real life, embellishing it to make it funny thinking of punchlines.

His sense of humor is something he inherited from his father. 

There would be 50 people from his father's Italian family at Christmas, and they had to be funny at the table. 

"If you were not being funny at that table, then you were getting fun of, "he said. 

It's like for almost his whole life, and he was being groomed to do comedy because he didn't even realize it subconsciously. 

That's how he was raised. His dad would be making fun of his t-shirt the other day of Christmas, and he had to find a way to defend himself, backing him with a joke.

The first time he saw his future wife

Distefano is happily married to his wife, Jasmine Canuelas, an American-born fitness instructor, Zumba instructor, and personal trainer since 2015. 

But how did they first meet?

Distefano, in a podcast, recalled the day when he first saw his future wife, Jasmine. 

It was the 6th of July 2014, Distefano was having a strawberry vodka when his eyes saw Jasmine, who at the time was dancing. 

The moment he saw her, he was like, "Oh My God." 

It was like a movie as his heartbeat suddenly stopped seeing her, and he had never felt that way in his life, he recalled. 

There were many beautiful women, but there was something different in her. 

Inside him, he felt that if he didn't try getting to her, then he would get bothered for the rest of his life because he knew he was not going to forget her. 

Her chipped tooth, above all, made her even more beautiful, he said.

So, he walked up to her and said that he couldn't stop looking at her and also asked if she had a boyfriend. 

He asked her if there was any way he could buy her a drink, to which she replied he could, but her boyfriend was there. 

According to him, he had a rule not to mess with someone with a boyfriend, but with Jasmine, he didn't want to give up. 

He didn't care if she had a boyfriend, so he went to the bartender, who was one of her close friends, to ask what it was going to take for him to get her friend to notice him. 

After getting to know that Jasmine was Puerto Rican and loved dancing, he tried to impress her by Googling bachata. 

They played that song, and he danced, after which she giggled and said it was a nice attempt. She then told him her name. 

He later got to know that she had a son from her previous relationship, and the son's father was still in the picture. 

He felt so inferior to the man he didn't know that he purposely impregnated her. They conceived in July of 2014.

He is the father of two

Distefano is the father of his two beautiful daughters. He and his wife Jasmine welcomed their first daughter, Delilah, in May 2015. 

They welcomed their second daughter in 2021. They named her Violette. 

Besides that, he is also the stepdad of Jasmine's son Tristan from Jasmine's previous relationship.

Distefano, while appearing on Bert Kreischer's podcast, opened up about what it's like being a dad while doing stand-up on the road. 

He emotionally broke down, saying he missed his daughter's swim meets. 

He made a lot of money, but having to watch his daughter's life on the phone was something heart-breaking, he said. 

He was like what he was doing. His daughter is not going to be six again, and he missed tons of his daughter's life. 

He is watching his kids' lives on FaceTime. It's just killed him, he added. He realized that he could make less money and still give his kids the life they wanted.
