Angelica Zachary is the former partner of American actor and comedian Marlon Wayans. Zachary was born and raised in Los Angeles. 

She is half-Japanese and half African-American.

Did she get married to Wayans?

Zachary and Wayans started dating in the year 1992. According to the sources, the couple wedded in a secret ceremony in 2005. 

Their relationship came to an end after they decided to call it quit in 2013.

In August 2021, during an interview, her ex-partner Wayans claimed that he never got married and also stated the reason behind it. 

According to him, the reason behind never walking down the aisle was his mom, who sadly passed away at the age of 81 in 2020. 

He said when his mom was fighting for survival at the death bed, he confessed to his mom that he never exchanged wedding vows because he wanted her to be his number one girl. 

After hearing his words, she grabbed his hand and pulled him closer to her, and before she could say anything, Wayans replied, ”I know, I love you too" and planted her a kiss saying he would see her soon but not that soon. 

After all, he got a shit load of life to live, which were the last words he said to his mother. 

His perceptive on marriage is that when you get married, you have to get divorced to either be separated or together, and he likes things to bend, not to break and prefers friendship to marriage because he feels in friendship you get to learn each other, grow and get better.

She shares two kids with Wayans

Zachary is the mother of her two kids, a daughter Amai Zackary Wayans 21 and a son Shawn Howell Wayans, 20, whom she shares with her ex-partner Wayans. 

Their son Shawn graduated from Buckley High School in 2020. Their daughter Amai is openly gay, and they fully support her. 

Wayans came out in support of his daughter during pride month via his Instagram, where he posted of his then-19-year-old daughter Amai with pride-themed vans with rainbow sole and wrote ”happy pride to my pride and joy.” 

He added writing that he would not change one effing thing about his daughter. 

To his support, one of the fans commented, asking him not to teach his daughter, who is not old enough to understand what that is all about. 

In response to his comment, Wayans wrote that his daughter is 19 and is who she is until she doesn’t choose a different one. Love her for her, not what he want her to be. 

Her ex never stops praising her for her immense support and for being a wonderful mom

Though Zachary and Wayans parted their ways back in 2013, there are no harsh feelings for one another.
